Out today are Unlikely Hero and Center, which is Center of the Earth and Sky and Painting the Desert, all wrapped into one.

Eric doesn’t know where else to turn when his daughter is kidnapped, so he calls on his powerful ex-lover, Brock. Brock never expected to hear from Eric again, but he never got over the man, either. When Eric comes to him to help find the three-year-old Josie, there's no way Brock can turn him down. He has the money and the contacts Eric needs, and he can't let Eric walk out of his life again. Not after all these years.

Brock has no idea what he's letting himself in for. Together, Eric and Josie turn Brock's world upside down while they work with police and private security to find the people who took Josie, and to keep Eric and Josie safe while they do. Even as they get to know each other again, Brock has to fight the feelings he still has for Eric, at least for time being, which just makes it all that much harder. Can Eric and Brock find out who wants to hurt them before it's too late, or will Brock fall off his pedestal as Eric's hero?

Combining two previous Sean Michael novels, The Center of Earth and Sky and Painting the Desert, Center focuses on twins Grey and Raine Holstein, who have a good life together. But that doesn't mean they're not willing to play. When they meet schoolteacher Whit, they both want to take him home. Whit is quickly drawn into a sensual world where passion overcomes panic, where a simple meal becomes an erotic feast, and where love is the paramount rule. The three of them try to find a way to make a life together, making sure no one is left out.

Grey, Raine and Whit seem to be living a charmed life, but their whole world is threatened when Grey is diagnosed with cancer, and everything starts to fall apart. Grey is their rock, and as he's ravaged by the cancer treatment, Whit and Raine struggle to hold it together. Will Whit find the strength to be what his lovers need him to be? Can he remain in the center of such a storm and survive it intact?

back and catching up

I hope everyone had a great summer.

I'm currently working on getting things caught up. I missed a couple of new releases at the end of August, I've got a contest for an upcoming release, and I'm working on my newsletter -- should be able to send it out before the weekend. I'm a little behind on email and LJ replies, too.

I did get my webpage updated with my new contest (listed below), my latest releases and the Jarheads Freebie page has a new thing or two on it, as does the free fiction page.

I've got a story in the Bite Me anthology.

My story is When Needed, about Bounty Hunter Jen and her two faithful canine companions. Are JC and Spook more than they seem?

Loving Away the Grumps is another Jarheads story.
Whether Rock is in a rotten mood from getting the runaround at City Hall, or it's Rig who's out of sorts from a bad day, the Jarheads know just how to cheer each other up. Rock, Dick and Rig know the best remedy for a case of the blues is some pizza, a few beers, and some hot lovin', Can they get over what ails them together?

Also, I've got a novel coming out at the end of September called Unlikely Hero. I'm having a contest for it -- first prize is a print copy of the book and second prize is an ebook copy of the book. The contest and details are here, along with an excerpt.

And now I'm back to Found 2 -- Billy and Tanny are currently being very loud. Go them!

Making Your Own Luck is now out!

Isaac is the superstitious type, and his Friday the Thirteenth is shaping up to be the worst kind of nightmare. The one good thing it brings him is Rusty, a sculptor who seems perfectly willing to buck Isaac's trend of bad luck to get to know him better.

Rusty thinks Isaac needs to plan for good luck instead of bad, so he sets out to do what he can to make Isaac's life better, one day at a time. A series of catastrophic dates can't deter Rusty from his mission, but can Isaac overcome his disaster-prone ways long enough to take advantage of Rusty's care?

It's the story of Isaac and Rusty who meet on a Friday the Thirteenth.

I'm having a quick contest for it -- send me an email at seanmichaelwrites @ gmail . com (no spaces) with "Salt" in the subject line and tell me a superstition. It can be your favorite, or the most obscure, or just the first one that comes to you. The contest is open until Monday night at midnight (est) and I'll randomly draw a winner on the 14th to win an ebook copy of the story.

Fur and Fang

I have two stories in the Fur and Fang anthology. These were originally in old "Shifting" anthologies.

Danger. Fur. Fangs. Bared claws, ready to defend territory and mate. The stories in this collection have all this and more! In Sean Michael's pirate story Law of the Jungle, Captain Marco is delighted with his crew's gift of a big, emerald-eyed cat. He's even more happy when he finds that the cat is also beautiful as a man. Will danger end their relationship before it begins? In Snake Oil, by BA Tortuga, old west drifter Haskell is just passing by the snake oil salesman's traveling show when he senses the presence of an old friend. Can he teach Truett to be human again?

Lost Tiger, by Sean Michael, has were-tiger Torao escaping from the circus. Greyson finds Torao and decides to help this strange man, but will Torao's old Keeper find a way to drag him back to the circus. Finally, in Alpha, by BA Tortuga, werewolf Cage thinks he's found a safe place in his cabin in the woods, at least until the former occupant, alpha wolf Roman comes back for it. Will they be able to get along, and survive the attack from outside their brand new pack?

I've got a short story in the anthology Cherry that was just released.

What's better than a hot guy having his cherry popped? Ten hot couples doing it! From the first kiss ever, the first kiss with a new lover, or just the first time trying something new, Cherry has it all. From tender and sweet to raunchy and hot, from new lovers to old marrieds, this anthology has something for everyone.

With stories from Torquere newcomers and veterans alike, Cherry brings ten stories that are sweet and spicy, that explore the dynamics of trying out something new, be it kissing guys, meeting the in-laws or going places you've never gone before. There's just something about a first time, and Cherry brings you ten different ones.

Stories include:

No One's Cherry by Julia Talbot
First of Foot, Right of the Line by Kiernan Kelly

Found out!

Billy has no idea what prompts him to take in a ragged, dirty man off the streets. All he knows is that Montana calls to him somehow, and that he always listens to his instincts. Montana, or Tanny, thinks that Billy is crazy, because nobody is that nice. Not in his experience, anyway.

Tanny brings all sorts of problems with him, from addiction to trouble with the police. Billy is determined to make Montana whole again, and he thinks he knows just the thing to replace Tanny's favorite high. All Billy has to do is help Montana get back on his feet, and then he can teach Tanny all about his lifestyle.

Too bad no one believes that Tanny is redeemable, least of all Tanny. Billy's friends threaten to become overprotective, the people who populated Tanny's life on the street pop up at the most inopportune moments, and Tanny thinks that Billy is far too good for him, a homeless guy fresh off the reservation, scarred and way less than perfect.

Can Billy convince Tanny to give him, and their newfound relationship, a chance? Or will the reality of Billy's lifestyle scare Tanny off just when life is starting to get good again?

Liquid

Liquid

To go with yesterday's crunch, or on it's own.

Beer. I like it dark.

Then there's caffeine -- I like it in a variety of liquids, and lots of it, especially in the mornings.

And on a really hot day -- a glass of lemonade with lots of ice, really hits the spot.

Rock loves his beer, as does Rig, though he prefers his in Texas longneck bottles. Dick still prefers milk or Coke, even now, though he does enjoy beer well enough.

Jim's a coffee man. And no matter how hard Marcus tries, that's not going to change. He might not drink it nearly as much as he used to, but Jim will always be addicted to it and love it and some part of him will always crave it.

The Velvet Glove boys are partial to juices -- sweet and tart and bright. For the poorer characters, the fact that it's real juice at the club is amazing to them.

Bast is sticking with Trick as his answer on this one, too. ;)

What's your favorite liquid? (to drink!)

Crunch!

Crunch!

I do love some nuts or chips with my beer. They just go together.

Now the crunch comes in all sorts of flavors. I like smokehouse almonds and caramel popcorn. I also like nacho chips with a little salsa or rippled chips with with some dip.

Rock and Dick are partial to dipping into Rig's queso.

Benj prefers sweet to crunchy and Brett's not fussy, though he did like fully dressed nachos while on the road.

Bast claims Trick is the best snack ever, crunchy or not ;)

What's your favorite crunchy snack?

Favorite Velvet Glove pairings

So for the Velvet Glove, Volume 5 contest, I asked folks to let me know who their favorite pair was and here are the results!

Pretty much everyone got at least one vote and a lot of pairs got several, but the overwhelming favorites were Mal and Herc, with Richmond and Nat close behind, and third place was a tie between Dane and Tyg and Ghost and Doc.

I loved hearing which pairings were people's favorites!

So the teaser for Velvet Glove, Volume 5 will be Mal and Herc!
